Bogværket Polychromatic Quintessence indeholder i hver bog en skala af farverne fra et af stederne i projektet Polychromatic Quintessence. PQ er et stedsspecifikt kunstprojekt baseret på systematisk indsamling og registrering af farvenuancer. Farver fra tabte genstande, overflader, vegetation og andre spor fra stedet. Farverne fastholdes i et register, der fungerer som en analytisk kortlægning af stedet. Metoden er projektets fundament: At beskrive et sted gennem farve. Gennem en fordybet farve-perception komponerer Pedersen stedsspecifikke billeder, hvor de registrerede farver kombineres i visuelle strukturer, der minder om stærkt forstørrede pixels.

The book Polychromatic Quintessence contains in each book a scale of the colors from one of the places in the project Polychromatic Quintessence. PQ is a site-specific art project based on the systematic collection and registration of color nuances. Colors from lost objects, surfaces, vegetation and other traces from the site. The colors are maintained in a register that functions as an analytical mapping of the site. The method is the foundation of the project: Describing a place through color. Through an immersive color perception, Pedersen composes site-specific images, where the registered colors are combined in visual structures that resemble greatly enlarged pixels.
